The 70th Year of Jubilee

The last day of Teshuvah, September 20, is Yom Kippur — the Jewish Day of Atonement, and the day when the Year of Jubilee was historically proclaimed at the start of each 49-year cycle.

The Year of Jubilee was the Year of the Lord's Favor — a year when liberty was proclaimed, debts were forgiven, and the land was restored, picturing God's healing over His people. This year, 2026, marks the 70th Jubilee Year since Israel entered the Promised Land in 1406 BC — and September 20 is our third milestone in this season.

After emerging victorious from His forty days of testing, Jesus announced the beginning of His ministry using the imagery of Jubilee, proclaiming liberty and the Year of the Lord's Favor (Luke 4:18–19). We believe God is calling us to do the same on Sunday night, September 20 — to celebrate Jubilee, proclaim liberty and the Year of the Lord's Favor, and recommit ourselves to taking the Gospel to our cities.
